The ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis football team wrapped up its regular season this weekend with a 42-39 win over Sacramento State and a spot in the playoffs.

The men’s soccer team ended its season with a 1-0 loss in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Football Has Chance at Conference Title Saturday

The ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis football team has a chance to bring home the Big Sky Conference championship Saturday (Nov. 16) when it faces off against Montana State at ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis Health Stadium.

The winner of the game will also earn the Big Sky Conference's automatic qualification to the NCAA FCA Playoffs. ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis is ranked No. 4, while Montana State is ranked No. 2.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., and the game will also host its own version of the Picnic Day favorite Doxie Derby during the first half.

Maggie the Aggie and Cori Shine Alongside Football’s Home Opener Win

Tim Plough earned his first career win at the helm of the ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis football team at its home opener against Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday (Sept. 7) as the Aggies prevailed against the Lions, 36-22.

Also on display were twists on familiar attractions, like Cori the kickoff tee-retrieving dog being helped by a student athlete and a student making her debut in the role of Maggie the Aggie.

Football Season Kicks Off This Weekend

The ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis football team has been hard at work at its fall training camp for the past month, and will officially open the regular season with an away game at ��ϲ��Ͽ� Berkeley Saturday (Aug. 31).

“We’ve continued to grow as a team and we are getting closer each day to finding out they type of team we are entering the season,” said head coach Tim Plough ’08, who is entering his first season as head coach.

There will be a lot to look for at this fall’s ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis football games, and a lot of ways to watch, including a variety of game-day experiences and streaming of home games.

First game this week

��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis will start the season this week with a game Thursday (Aug. 31) at Texas A&M University - Commerce, followed by another away game Sept. 9 at Oregon State.

The Aggies’ first home game in ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis Health Stadium will be against Southern Utah on Saturday, Sept. 16. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Meet ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis’ New Kickoff Dog: Cori

A fan-favorite tradition is back for another season of Aggie football, with a new dog trotting onto the field to retrieve the kickoff tee.

Cori, a 2½-year-old Labrador retriever, made her first appearance in Saturday’s 43-13 win over the University of San Diego, fetching the tee after every Aggie kickoff.
