Changes for AggieSurplus, Special Services and the Scientific Store

AggieSurplus closed out 2021 by merging with Special Services, then started 2022 with a new location, new hours and new ways to buy and pay.

The two Supply Chain Management units are now operating as AggieSurplus and Services. With the November merger came an easier-to-complete request process as well as overall improved customer service.

Supply Chain Team ‘Procures’ Award

Supply Chain Management recently procured an award for excellence in procurement, given by the National Association of Educational Procurement in recognition of the unit’s contribution to and support of the ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis mission. The association of more than 1,000 member institutions honored ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis in the highest enrollment category: schools of more than 15,000 students.

Computer Collaboration = $600,000 Savings

They said they would save ��ϲ��Ͽ� Davis a half-million dollars on computer purchases in a year. They were wrong. They did it in six months.

They are the team that masterfully brought together units around campus, facilitated agreement on a set of administrative computer standards, then negotiated a bulk discount with Dell. The deal is for five models — two desktops and three laptops — priced about 34 percent less than previous contracts allowed.
