Students may have left for winter break, but campus operations continue — and facilities, police and fire personnel are always available, even on campus holidays.

Office temperature, paper paychecks, health emergencies, police and fire, and facilities emergencies — here’s what you need to know to get through winter break.

MORE WINTER BREAK INFO

The Facilities Energy Conservation Office routinely turns off heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to save energy on long weekends — and we have two of those coming up:

  • Saturday-Tuesday, Dec. 22-25
  • Saturday-Tuesday, Dec. 29-Jan. 1

So, if you’re coming to your office Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 26-28, rest assured the heat will be on.

The long-weekend shutdowns apply only to noncritical spaces; laboratories and animal spaces are not affected. Also, spaces that are reserved for events through Conference and Event Services are not affected.
