Watershed Sciences plans drought summit at state Capitol

The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Davis Center for Watershed Sciences is coordinating a drought summit to be held Friday, April 25, at the state Capitol.

The daylong Drought Science, Policy and Management Summit will bring together a wide range of experts in water sciences, management and policy for discussions on how best to manage this year’s drought and long-term water shortages.

Topics will range from agricultural production and employment to wildfires, public health, the economy, energy production and use, fish and wildlife, and water conservation.

The free public event will include a review of what °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â campuses are doing to conserve water and provide water-saving advice for residents, farmers and business owners.

Speakers will be drawn from across the University of California and other universities, agencies, nonprofit organizations and industry.
