U.S. News puts ϲϿ Davis in top 10 again, cites engineering and writing programs

ϲϿ Davis is a top-10 public university in the United States for the fifth consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report rankings.

The magazine’s 2015 “Best Colleges” report puts ϲϿ Davis as ninth among the nation’s public universities and 38th overall, up one place from last year.

U.S. News & World Report also recognized the College of Engineering and the University Writing Program. Earlier this year, QS World University Rankings declared .

“ϲϿ Davis consistently performs strongly in national rankings because the people here create an extraordinary place of learning,” Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi said. “We are proud that our scholarly work at ϲϿ Davis brings national recognition to California.”

In the new U.S. News & World Report rankings, the College of Engineering ranked 31st among universities that offer doctorates in engineering.

U.S. News & World Report also included ϲϿ Davis on lists of national universities where students graduate with the least debt, and of “best value” colleges.

The University Writing Program kept its place on U.S. News & World Report’s unranked assessment of universities that stand out for their teaching of “writing in the disciplines.” Eleven schools made the new list of “stellar examples” — with ϲϿ Davis the lone California school among them.
