The 澳门六合彩资料库 Office of the President announced Oct. 17 that the lecturers bargaining unit of the American Federation of Teachers had ratified a three-year labor agreement for the unit's more than 3,000 members.
A news release gave these highlights of the contract that runs through Sept. 30, 2014:
- Participation in a one-time (2011-12) salary increase program for nonrepresented faculty and staff 鈥 a program that is based on individual performance. Eligible lecturers will receive 3 percent increases effective Oct. 1, 2011.
- Participation in the annual academic merit program for 2012-13 and 2013-14, for which lecturers as academic employees will be eligible as are all nonrepresented, nonstudent academic employees.
- The university and the union will reopen salary negotiations in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
- Lecturers will pay the same rates for health care benefits as Acdemic Senate faculty and nonrepresented employees.
- Lecturers will contribute to the 澳门六合彩资料库 Retirement Plan at the same rate as senate faculty and other nonrepresented employees.
- The university and the union will negotiate any structural post-employment benefit changes to the 澳门六合彩资料库 Retirement Plan for 2013-14.
The 澳门六合彩资料库OP news release stated that the negotiations also resulted in changes to many contract terms, including but not limited to continuing appointments, discipline and dismissal, instructional workload and layoffs.
On Sept. 10, 澳门六合彩资料库OP announced that three other bargaining units had ratified labor agreements:
- American Federation of Teachers, representing the university's more than 350 librarians.
- American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, representing more than 20,000 employees at campuses and medical centers, in two bargaining units, one for patient care staff (such as hospital assistants and hospital laboratory technicians) and the other for service workers (such as custodians and mail processors).

Free e-waste collection
The Bargain Barn is once again offering to take e-waste off your hands for free. But take note: This e-waste collection will not be at the Bargain Barn.
The collection, for university units only, is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 19) at the Hopkins Services Complex, 615 Hopkins Road, across from the University Airport.
The Bargain Barn will take all university-owned, nonfunctioning desktop (or smaller) electronic items. The e-waste will be turned over to the campus鈥檚 contracted vendor, California Electronic Asset Recovery, for environmentally safe disposal.
The Bargain Barn will not accept items with 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis property stickers, or items that require decommissioning or contain hazardous chemicals.

Farm to College Night
Choices, so many good choices are on the menu for Farm to College Night, tonight (Oct. 19) 鈥 held in the dining commons and open to everyone, not just students.
Dining Services presents Farm to College Night twice a year, demonstrating the university鈥檚 efforts toward building more sustainable food operations. For example, several aspects of the Farm to College Night menu feature sustainably produced, locally grown and humanely raised items.
Here are some of the choices from the Oct. 19 menu: Entrees 鈥 Roasted Butternut Squash and Coco Ranch Apple Soup, and Fresh Pasta with Russell Ranch Roasted Tomato Sauce. Sides 鈥 Sweet Potato Wedges and Saut茅ed Dwelley Green Beans with Almonds. Dessert 鈥 Fresh Coco Ranch Apple Gallette and Spice Pumpkin Cake with Pecan Streusel.
Farm to College Night hours are 4:45 to 8 p.m. at the , and dining commons. The cost is $14.50 for the general public, or $11.60 with 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis identification or Staff Assembly pin.

Anthropology open house
The announced that it will host an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in honor of California Archaeology Month.
A flier states: 鈥淐ome and celebrate 40-plus years of archaeological research at 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis!鈥 The celebration will take place on the third floor of Young Hall.
The department invites the public to meet archaeology faculty and students, and learn about research and teaching materials. The program also includes lab tours.
