University of California, Davis, Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi will join with women leaders from across the country in honoring the winners of the 2014 Catalyst Awards in New York this week.
Founded in 1962, Catalyst is a leading nonprofit organization focused on expanding opportunities for women and business both in the U.S. and around the world. Through a variety of initiatives, Catalyst conducts research, provides information and advises businesses in creating and supporting diverse and inclusive workplaces.
Each year, Catalyst hosts more than 100 CEOs and 1,500 business leaders at the Catalyst Awards Dinner in a public celebration of the year鈥檚 Catalyst Award-winning initiatives. The Catalyst Awards recognize innovative organizational programs with proven, measurable results that promote the recruitment, development and advancement of all women, including diverse women. This year鈥檚 honorees are the Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Lockheed Martin.
As a special guest of Catalyst President and CEO Deborah Gillis, Chancellor Katehi will participate in the awards ceremony with other business, academic and nonprofit leaders as part of Catalyst鈥檚 efforts to highlight the work of women in major leadership roles.

Since 1987, the Catalyst Award has recognized cutting-edge initiatives that advance women in the workplace. Catalyst Award-winning initiatives are evaluated in a rigorous yearlong process against the following criteria: business rationale, senior leadership support, accountability, communication, employee engagement, innovation and measurable results. Since starting the award, Catalyst has recognized 82 initiatives and 76 organizations from around the world whose groundbreaking diversity and inclusion initiatives have changed workplaces, communities and lives.
