Eligible parents are invited to take a 35- to 45-minute survey for the study, and each participant will receive a $15 electronic gift card in return. Only one parent per household can take the survey.

The survey from Hastings’ lab, Healthy Emotions, Relationships and Development, or HERD, aims to understand parents’ behavioral, social and emotional responses to coronavirus/COVID-19, and parents’ experiences with child-rearing during this time.

To be eligible to participate, respondents must be at least 18 years old, be a parent of a child from 2 to 18 years old who lives at home, be able to read and understand English, and have access to the internet to complete the online survey. All information provided will be kept confidential.

Hastings is also leading a study seeking participants for an online survey aimed at understanding the nature of people’s diverse emotional and behavioral responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated public health regulations — and the possible reasons for why they have responded in these ways. In that survey, respondents need not be parents.
