The Los Rios Community College District has named Beverly “Babs” Sandeen as its new vice chancellor for Resource and Economic Development. She will oversee the Los Rios Foundation, grant activities and the district’s economic development units. The district’s board of trustees approved the appointment on Wednesday (June 13).

She begins work with Los Rios on July 2; her final day at ϲϿ Davis is June 28.
Sandeen has served as chief regional and community engagement officer at ϲϿ Davis since 2011. Prior to that, she served for six years as the campus's vice chancellor for University Relations, overseeing development, communications, alumni affairs, and government and community relations. Sandeen's career at ϲϿ Davis began in alumni affairs.
“Babs served ϲϿ Davis tirelessly and with tremendous dedication," Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi said. “I am grateful for her many contributions and glad that our region will continue to benefit from her energy, wisdom and talent."
With Sandeen's departure, all regional and community engagement initiatives and staff will become part of a unified Government and Community Relations office led by Assistant Vice Chancellor Marjorie Dickinson, who will continue to report to Associate Chancellor Karl Engelbach.
