THE OUTDOORS: Collect natural materials, then get crafty

At a craft workshop this weekend in the arboretum, you won't start getting crafty until after you have collected natural materials to get crafty with.

The Cross-Pollination: Art-Nature Workshop, open to all ages, will explore the relationship between creativity and the natural world.

Participants will collect natural materials in the Shields Oak Grove, then "make art and discover what happens when we encourage cross-pollination between art and nature."

Presented by the arboretum and the Davis Art Center. 10 a.m.-noon Sunday, July 15, .
