  • Carl Mack, the first chair of the Department of African American Studies and later the superintendent of the Del Paso Heights School District in Sacramento.

  • , assistant adjunct professor, among the founding faculty of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing.
  • Cruz Reynoso, emeritus professor of law and retired associate justice of the California Supreme Court.

The other inductees: Dave Egolf, retired principal of Davis’ King High School; Sandy Holman, director of the Davis-based Culture C.O.-O.P.; Courtenay Tessler, a counselor and adviser at Davis High School for 21 years; and Ralph Villanueva, a counselor and coach at Davis High School for 33 years.

Patricia Adelekan, the founder and chief executive officer of Youth on the Move, said she wanted to give educators the same honor she once saw athletes receiving at a hall of fame induction in Sacramento.

“There were a lot of retired educators sitting at home thinking the world forgot about them,” she said.

The ϲϿ Davis event followed a larger induction ceremony held last month in Anaheim.
