• American Federation of Teachers, representing the university's more than 350 librarians.
• American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, representing more than 20,000 employees at campuses and medical centers, in two bargaining units, one for patient care staff (such as hospital assistants and hospital laboratory technicians) and the other for service workers (such as custodians and mail processors).
°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿âOP announced last week that it had reached tentative deals with two AFT units: the librarians in one and more than 3,000 lecturers in the other. The result of the lecturers ratification vote was not yet available.

- Participation in a one-time (2011-12) salary increase program for nonrepresented faculty and staff — a program that is based on individual performance. The merit increases will be retroactive to Oct. 1.
Negotiations were limited to 2011-12 wages, under the terms of the libarians' four-year contract running through Sept. 30, 2012.
