Humphrey Fellowship Global Forums are scheduled the next two Wednesdays with the latest round of Humphrey fellows, accomplished midcareer professionals from around the world who are making their way through 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis en route to fellowships at universities around the country.

One of the fellows, Manuel M. Bugueno of Chile, is not going very far. In fact, he鈥檚 staying at 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis for his fellowship: 10 months of nondegree graduate study and professional experiences.

President Carter established the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program in 1978, in honor of the late senator and vice president, a longtime advocate of international cooperation and understanding.

The State Department runs the program, which accepts fellows from designated countries in Africa, Asia, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Caribbean and Middle East.

The Humphrey Fellowship Program has 17 designated fields of study. The fellows at 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis this summer fall into 13 of those categories: natural resources, environmental policy and climate change (Buguenor's field of study); agricultural and rural development; economic development; urban and regional planning; communications/journalism; law and human rights; public policy analysis and public administration; technology policy and management; human resource management; educational administration, planning and policy; higher education administration; teaching English as a foreign language; and public health policy and management.

The global forums give the fellows the opportunity to introduce themselves and talk about their fields of study. Fellows will give their talks throughout the afternoon, and refreshments will be served. Admission is free and open to the public.
