As they begin their Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships, mid-career professionals from around the world will participate in a pair of forums, July 25 and 26, where the fellows will talk about their work and their home countries.  See box for forum details.

, the continuing and professional education division of 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis, has hosted Humphrey Fellows for pre-academic orientation and training for 22 years in a row. Some of the fellows stay here, the rest go to other U.S. universities for their one-year fellowships, including nondegree graduate study and related professional experience.

Participants in the 2017 orientation and training program come from 34 countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Mali and Belarus. The fellows鈥 projects include 鈥淓nergy Efficiency in the Kurdistan Region: Energy Saved Is Energy Produced,鈥 鈥淎lgeria, a Touristic Country Without Tourism: Fasten Your Seat Belt,鈥 鈥淗indu Women鈥檚 Fight for Identity in Pakistan: The Realities of Women's Lives,鈥 鈥淧ost-Production Losses of Grain for Sustainable Food Security and Nutrition in Ghana: Cheaper Hunger Relief鈥 and 鈥淭he Israeli Palestinian Conflict: Why I Don鈥檛 Believe in a Two-State Solution.鈥

President Jimmy Carter instituted the in 1978 to honor the late senator and vice president, a longtime advocate of international cooperation and understanding. The program serves designated countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Eurasia.
