12th annual Winkler Dinner

The student group DEVO 鈥 鈥 is selling tickets for the 12th annual Winkler Dinner, a five-course meal prepared by top chefs, with each course thoughtfully paired with wine.

The wine is being donated, and the winemakers will be present to introduce their wines, the organizers said.

Live and silent auctions will accompany the dinner 鈥 and the entire event serves as a fundraiser for DEVO鈥檚 group winemaking projects and field trips to various wine regions, alumni events and student-faculty mixers, and scholarships for international winemaking internships.

This year鈥檚 Winkler Dinner, with musical accompaniment, is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the courtyard of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science.

Tickets are $150 each, and the organizers advise people to make their purchases early, due to limited seating. You can order or send a check to Davis Enology and Viticulture Organization, in care of the Department of Viticulture and Enology, 1 Shields Ave., Davis 95616.
