Forums are scheduled next week on two projects integral to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Davis academics: our library of the future; and the campus’s new learning management system, Canvas.
The library will hold a pair of community fair-style town halls on Thursday, Dec. 1, for the unveiling of a draft vision of how the library’s physical spaces can support services and resources that best meet the needs of faculty, researchers and students in the 21st century.
Preliminary answers will begin to emerge in the draft, which synthesizes many months of research and campus input.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to the town halls, where posters, storyboards and a presentation will bring the vision to life. Here is the schedule:
- Faculty and Staff Town Hall — 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (presentation at noon), multipurpose room, . Refreshments provided.
- Student Town Hall — 3:30-5 p.m., a community-fair-style event in the main stairwell mezzanine between the lobby and lower level of .
Feedback is welcome and will be incorporated into the final vision, due for completion early next year. That vision will guide the development of detailed space requirements and, ultimately, architectural designs for renovation and reconfiguration of the library buildings.
