It may have been a long time since you set foot on campus, but there are many parts of campus both familiar and new that can be seen without leaving your couch.
Recent video tours take viewers inside the new °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Davis Health clinic, behind the scenes at the Botanical Conservatory and outside to meet the four-legged stars of the equestrian team. Plus, see the machinery that keeps the campus warm (and cool).
Inside the new clinic
If you missed the recent virtual tour, there’s still a way to take a peek inside the new °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Davis Health clinic.
The primary care clinic for °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Davis Health patients opened recently in a new building at the corner of Hutchison Drive and Dairy Road. It is an extension of the primary care clinic on West Covell Boulevard, which has served the Davis community for more than 20 years.
What the plants want
What kind of soil do orchids want? How about carnivorous plants? Which plants prefer soil mixed with volcanic rock? Get the answers to those question and more in this behind-the-scenes look at the soil mixes and mediums the Botanical Conservatory uses. Horticulturist Marlene Simon explains the differences between each in the above video.
Meet the horses
Finally, venture back outside with Head Equestrian Coach Jessie Weisinger, who introduces viewers to a number of the team’s horses. She explains the differences between the breeds and their physical features in the above video.
