Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi leads the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Davis delegation again to Sacramento for the biannual °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Day at the Capitol, next Tuesday (March 19).
Delegates from around the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â system will advocate for, among other things, approval of Gov. Jerry Brown’s proposed budget (which includes a 5 percent increase in °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â funding); and a specific allocation, similar to the support provided to the California State University system and the community colleges, for the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Retirement Plan should there be sufficient one-time dollars available.
The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Davis delegation is scheduled to gather for an 8 a.m. briefing at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â Center Sacramento, and participate in morning and afternoon rounds of legislative briefings. President Mark G. Yudof is due to address the entire °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ¿â delegation during lunch in a tent on the Capitol grounds.
