Be Part of the Cutout Crew for Basketball

Nov. 17: With the release of the women’s preseason schedule today, this article has been updated to correct the date when the Aggie Cutout Crew will “see” its first game. The first home game, women or men, will feature the women’s team vs. San Francisco, Wednesday, Nov. 25.


Aggie women’s and men’s basketball returns to The Pavilion in November and December, and while, officially, there will be no fans in the stands, we know of a way to get you in: as a member of the Aggie Cutout Crew — your image on cardboard!

Your presence — or that of your pet — will serve two purposes: to show support for our teams, of course, and to be part of the cutout crowd representing Aggie Pride for the TV cameras (when the games are televised). You will keep your seats for as long as he no-fans-in-the-stands rule applies.

If you want to be in your seat by the first game, you must order your cutout by Nov. 10. After that, cutouts will be updated weekly, so long as photos are submitted by noon on Tuesdays.

Cutout prices are $50 for one or two, and $25 for every cutout above two; and $25 for students. Discounts apply when ordering three or more. , including size and composition of the photo you will need to submit, how to order and an FAQ.

The Big West Conference board of directors ordered all teams to begin the season without fans, because of the pandemic. The board indicated it will revisit the issue as the season progresses.

The Aggie women’s preseason will include three games at home: San Francisco, 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25; Simpson University, 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28; and Northern Arizona, 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20. The women’s team will open conference play Sunday-Monday, Dec. 27-28, hosting CSU Bakersfield in a new conference format that has teams playing backt-back games at one school or the other to limit travel during the pandemic.

The Aggie men’s preseason schedule includes two home games: Portland, Saturday, Dec. 5; and William Jessup, Tuesday, Dec. 22 (times to be determined). The men’s first conference games at home will be Friday-Saturday, Jan. 1-2 vs. ϲϿ Riverside (times to be determined).
