Campus eateries and the Activities and Recreation Center are closed as 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis complies with Gov. Gavin Newsom鈥檚 recommendation last night (March 16) to close all restaurants (except for takeout) and gyms.

鈥淲e鈥檝e made the decision to close the CoHo, effective today (March 17) at 4 p.m.,鈥 said Darin Schluep, who manages the Coffee House, BioBrew and CoHo South locations for the Associated Students of 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis. Those secondary locations are also closed, and all of AS澳门六合彩资料库D鈥檚 eateries will be closed for the rest of this week and next.

Schluep said he hopes to be able to reopen March 30 with a reduced schedule.

The decisions caps an uncertain two days for the CoHo, which earlier today closed its dining room and switched to to-go orders only. A day prior, staff spent time moving tables and chairs to allow for social distancing.

Similarly, all retail eateries operated by Dining Services 鈥 the newly reopened Peet鈥檚 in the Silo, Scrubs Cafe, the South Silo and elsewhere 鈥 have removed all seating and are only available for to-go orders.

Those eateries are also moving self-service stations like salad bars, condiments and utensils behind the counter.

The dining commons remain open to serve students still living on campus, but have adjusted seating to allow for social distancing. Future changes will be noted on .

ARC closed, Memorial Union open

In response to the governor鈥檚 recommendations, Campus Recreation closed all programs and facilities on both the Davis and Sacramento campus, including the 150,000 square foot Activities and Recreation Center.

The Memorial Union is open as scheduled for finals week, and will be open 7 a.m.鈥7 p.m. during spring break (March 23鈥26, closed March 27鈥29).

Elsewhere on campus, facilities personnel have set up 50 portable handwashing stations and 10 hand sanitizer dispensers installed in locations like the entrance to Shields Library.

No parking permits required

Regular parking permit requirements are not being enforced until further notice, Transportation Services announced today. However, 鈥渞estricted spaces, disabled spaces and no parking zones will be enforced,鈥 the department said.

Anyone with a long-term parking permit expiring after April 1 will be eligible for a refund, calculated once enforcement is restarted. Those who pay by payroll deduction will automatically receive a credit, while anyone who purchased a long-term permit online or in-person may return it for a refund calculated in the same way.

With far fewer cars on campus, Transportation Services has also ended the stack parking service that is usually needed to allow more vehicles to park in certain lots and structures around campus.

Unitrans has reduced service this week, and is operating its usual Break Service next week.
