Following is a summary of arts events on the 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis campus coming up in the next few days.

Department of Theatre and Dance stages "Gibraltar"

In 鈥,鈥 a young woman whose husband has disappeared meets a traveler searching for his runaway wife. They share stories played out in a landscape of memory. Kent Nicholson (MFA, theatre, 鈥95), director of musical theatre at Playwrights Horizons in New York, directs. Performances run Nov. 9鈥18.More and other art in art newsletter.

Hear jazz day and night

Hear a compressed history of jazz, from Scott Joplin鈥檚 1899 鈥淢aple Leaf Rag鈥 to Herbie Hancock鈥檚 1973 鈥淐hameleon,鈥 at a free noon concert Nov. 9. More jazz is highlighted in a free noon performance and a ticketed evening concert Nov. 30. More is available on concerts from the Department of Music.

Get art on the brain


This year鈥檚 first LASER: Conversations in Art and Science features Beth Ferguson, assistant professor of design; Petr Janata, Center for Mind and Brain faculty member; and Michael Arcega, assistant professor of art at San Francisco State University. Nov. 16, 6 p.m., in Music Building 115.

LASER, or the Leonardo Art, Science, Evening Rendezvous talks are meant to engage the public as participants in conversations with artists, designers, scientists and technologists making significant contributions to their fields.

International Education Week highlights personal stories of Aggies

The personal stories of Aggies who have ventured around the globe and of those who have come from beyond our borders will be featured during International Education Week, Nov. 13-17. The official opening for the event, from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday (Nov. 13) in the lobby of the International Center, will feature remarks from Chancellor Gary S. May followed by student presentations about eight of the more than 110 countries from which our international students and scholars come. There will also be cultural performances by student groups.

With partners, Global Affairs has organized more than 20 activities 鈥 including cultural workshops, information sessions, entertainment and other social events 鈥 to celebrate the benefits of international education and worldwide exchange.
