Art Faculty: Rosen鈥檚 Work on View in Houston; Werfel and Pardee on Wine

The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston is featuring the first major survey of Annabeth Rosen鈥檚 work 鈥 including 80 ceramic sculptures and 45 drawings/paintings, nearly all created since she arrived at 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis 20 years ago.

She is currently co-chair of the art and art history department and holds the Robert Arneson Endowed Chair.

Annabeth Rosen: Fired, Broken, Gathered, Heaped chronicles over 20 years of her work in ceramics. The exhibition will also feature works on paper that mirror the trajectory of her works created in clay. The show has been featured in Art in America, Art Forum and Sculpture magazines.

The show, through Nov. 26, began in August, right before hurricanes Harvey and Irma drenched the south. But, the museum and the was safe and the museum is open. She said that while the area near the museums suffered hard rains, there was no flooding that affected buildings. She wrote in an email: 鈥淭he outlying areas of the city, and areas near the bayous suffered the most severe damage, and those people鈥檚 lives will be changed forever more. Most of the city was closed down, the airports were closed as well for a couple of days when the hurricane hit hardest.鈥

Alumni Wine Collection Features Faculty Art

Combining some of the best of 澳门六合彩资料库 Davis 鈥 art and wine 鈥 the California Aggie Alumni Association is celebrating reaching the milestone of 250,000 living alumni with a new Alumni Wine .  Collaborating with Ceja Vineyards, Heringer Estates and the Robert Mondavi Institute this year鈥檚 collection features paintings by art professors Gina Werfel and Hearne Pardee. The wine was distributed and the artwork shown at a recent event at the Manetti Shrem Museum. And anyone can order either the 2012 Red Blend from Ceja, featuring Pardee, or the 2016 Chardonnay, from Heringer, featuring Werfel. Drink it in.
